Brevard County Schools Did it Again

Brevard County Schools took third station in the state, with 84% of schools receiving a grade “A”.

The scoring is based on scores that students get on the FCAT, the Florida Thorough Assessment Test.  “A” rated schools are awarded $75 per student.

All of Brevard County Middle Schools earned an “A” for the fourth year in a row.

St. John and Gilchrist County took 1st and 2nd in order in the state.

Carroll: Recruited for superintendent post in Tennessee News Courier

“I was recruited by Ray and Associates Inc. to relate after Williamson County did not hire a superintendent in their first search,” Superintendent Barry Carroll said Thursday. “After much delve into, thought and prayer, my family and I decided that I should consider it.”

Carroll, 51, interviewed with school officials at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Franklin, Tenn.

He said he once interviewed for the superintendent’s post in Brevard County, Fla.

Last May, he interviewed for the superintendent’s post for Boone County Schools in Kentucky. At that conditions, he said he had been contacted by or about systems in Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, North Carolina and Pennsylvania. He said the contacts acquire a win through his membership in the American Association of School Administrators.

“I am not trying to leave Limestone County,” Carroll said. “As I indicated when I interviewed for Brevard County, Fla., and now for Williamson County, Tenn., I was recruited and asked to register and interview. I accepted the invitation to interview because both systems are well known for being the top systems in their state.”
