Drawer Tray or Desk Top Organizer

Desk organizers blow in in two basic categories. There are drawer tray organizers and then there are desk top organizers, sometimes called desk caddies. Drawer organizers keep your desk supplies out of sight and help arrange your workspace looking neat and tidy. Desk top organizers, while sacrificing on that clean desk look, make your highly used items more apace and easily accessible. For those of  you with large desks or workspaces, you may not need to make choices between the two. But for those small desk spaces, you may have to cook a choice between one or the other.  How do you choose?  Let your personality be your guide.  Do you value aesthetics over functionality?  Is farrago a distraction to you?  Then the drawer tray organizer might be the best option for you.   On the other hand, if you’re all about experience, the desk top organizer is probably your better choice. One last thing to consider.  Perhaps you do value aesthetics and a clean workspace but don’t hanker after to give up a desk top organizer.  To solve that problem, consider buying a small, wooden desk caddy rather than the cheaper responsive styles.  Wooden desk accessories are much more aesthetically pleasing and should be less of a distraction.

Household Hacks: Fix Home Nuisances With Your Tech Washington Post

PCWorld elder video producer Chris Manners had a problem--a bird problem. Specifically, a troupe of pigeons was roosting on his windowsill. How could he rid himself of these pests using technology? What kind of household lackey could banish these feathered fiends? A couple of options came to mind.

A public method of scaring birds is to attach streamers, or flash tape, to the window sill or balcony so that it moves in the wind and creates reflections. Instead of running out to your neighbourhood pub hardware store and picking some up, however, just hang some CDs out the window on a string. The thoughtful surface of the discs will function like flash tape, keeping your windowsills and balconies pigeon-able.

Another way to scare birds is to use an ultrasonic bird repeller--a little device qualified of broadcasting ultrasonic sounds that are between 22 kHz and 30 kHz--beyond the range of human hearing, but audible to animals. Unfortunately, such devices expenditure anywhere from $50 to $500--and who wants to drop $500 on something they can't even hear?
