One of my fondest memories of our homeschooling days is the days we spent playing games together. Some days we would have game day and cover every subject by playing games. Here are some of our favorites. Some are still convenient, others are no longer being published. Join me in my journey down memory lane.
SomeBody was one of our favorite games. It's a fun and educational fallible anatomy game by Aristoplay. I purchased this game when it first came out, at least 15 years ago. My children loved playing the games . It was a approved choice when their friends came over.
Homeschooling Basics - Back to school time
Well, we have to start with the basics: planning, scheduling and getting well-disposed. Homeschooling families set their own schedules and can choose when to begin and end their school year. What schedule do you keep? When do you begin? As you prepare for your homeschooling year, be dependable to plan some game days. Fridays worked well for us.

home schooling?

i have bewitched my child out of school because we think she would learn better from home we have de-registerd her from school
what happens next ?
she is 13
You'll almost certainly be hearing from your Peculiar Authority once the school have told them your daughter has been de-registered. Decide in advance if you're happy to have them visit your home, or if you want to adjoin them elsewhere or supply them with a written report instead. It's much less stressful to have that all straight in your mind before they make contact and start influential you how THEY want to handle it. The choice is yours not theirs, they know that and will back down once they realise that you know your rights.
You need to decide what and how you necessitate your daughter to learn. You can continue to follow the National Curriculum or you can dump that and follow her interests, or a mix of both. The nice item is you can change your mind as you discover what does and doesn't work. You don't have to do a bunch of GCSEs at 16, you can mix and match and she can take whatever exams she's prompt for when she's ready for them if she wants to at all
I would definitely recommend making contact with other home educating families, either locally or on-line so you can talk to parents who are prevailing through and have been through what you are now.

My nephew is home schooled since he was 11. You necessary to a get a tutor but be very careful where you are choosing, make sure they have been police checked. Get your local paper and check in the advertising for adjoining tutors. You will also get a visit once a year from your local education council to make sure your child is being tutored. My nephew has improved alot since being home schooled.

What is required to convert from home schooling to public schooling?
Jun 29, 2007 by Frustrated Parent | Posted in Other - Education
As the non-custodial procreator of two boys (14 & 15 years old), I am frustrated to say the least, that they are not receiving a proper education.
Their mother moved them to Missouri and is "home schooling" them now. All that I be paid is a lame excel version of a yearly report card. I have repeatedly asked to be provided with a copy of their curriculum and have been denied each spell.
Aside from going back to court to make it happen. Can anyone tell me what would be involved in converting them back to a public school enrollment? I am not even ineluctable if their homeschooling grades will even be considered when it comes time to determine what grade to place them in?
If anyone has experience with this please reply back.
Update - In the Government of Missouri "registration" of home schooled students is not mandatory. I have a court order that states that I am entitled to full access to all college records but conveniently they are not registered in any district. Or if they are it is under a different last name.
Their mother has not complied with my requests to show their work or their lesson plans.
Approximately, by far and away, most home schooled kids easily excell over public schooled kids. So, except for getting bullied in the vestibule and the usual gang fights, you can expect that your kids will be lightyears ahead of public schooled kids when they graduate.
I do recognize that there are standardized test that HS'er can take, and of course they will have to take the national SATs and AP exams if they intend to go to college.
You should ask to see the lessons plan, and ask for copies of any tests that she administers to them. You would be so entitled and any court would maintain that. Also, their local school will have a record of their home schooling work so be sure you know what school district they are in and inquire there also. As a concerned originator you obviously have an obligation and right to review their work.
But unless your ex is running a scam on you (and that's not likely, is it?) the kids are flourishing to turn out fine. It would be a big mistake to start another war over this issue. Unless as I said it is a scam. But once you see that the kids are actually wisdom good stuff (and I hope that is the case) do what you can to make life easier for everyone all around.

Does anyone have info on home schooling in England for a 6 year old?
Jun 27, 2008 by H | Posted in Home Schooling
I am planning on home schooling my son for 3 months preceding to emigrating, which will mean he doesn't have to change schools twice.
Any experience/advice? I know there are no set guidelines to go along with but others' experience will be appreciated!
We're off to Oz and ys, he'll be at school there once we're settled!
Here, in Australia, kids don't of necessity start school until they're 6 so whatever you do/don't do shouldn't become a big issue between him and his classmates once he starts school here.
However, if you wish to give him a 'heads-up' on some of the things his to be to come classmates in Australia may have already attempted....
At any Australian Primary school there is usually an emphasis on English (reading and review), Maths and the Study of Society and the Environment (SOSE). Students usually also have music, sport, drama, computer studies, proficiency, art, and learn a language (LOTE -- Language Other Than English).
A website such as http://www.primaryschool.com.au will give you a better mental image of the things his future classmates (or, at least, those who did prep or transition (which, I think, is called 'reception' in england) ) may have already attempted.
Indoctrination is organised at state/territory level though, not nationally as it is in England...and can vary considerably between different states/territories, for exemplification, at 6 yrs old, your son'll be on level one in some states and level 2 in others. You might also try searching http://www.google.com.au for 'the name of the state you're moving to+early+learning+standards'. Or see below.
Also if you already recall where you'll be living, check out the website of the local primary school(s) as, here, schools still have freedom to vary the curriculum to handle their own (local) needs.
Depending on where you'll be living...
